our story
The Oregon K-12 Climate Education Initiative was formed to ensure all Oregon public school teachers are prepared to integrate climate change across all grade levels and content areas based on the Oregon State standards. This initiative will act according to the recommendations outlined by the Oregon Educators for Climate Education and support existing resources provided by the Oregon Department of Education.
The Oregon Climate Action Hub is on a mission to empower ALL Oregonians to take effective climate action. Their goal is to build individual and community capacity for action and encourage each of us to live in ways that create a vibrant future for all. You can find opportunities to take action at individual, community, organizational, and/or policy levels.

Breck currently teaches social studies and Spanish at Lake Oswego High School. Her passion for Oregon and climate education has engaged her in initiatives locally and across the state. She collaborates with student groups as well as adult partners, such as Oregon Educators for Climate Education, Oregon Green Schools, her district Sustainability Advisory Board, the Lake Oswego Sustainability Network, Oswego Lake Watershed Council, and Eastern Oregon Climate Change Coalition. She enjoys her family’s veggie garden and long walks with their dog on local trails.
