Synopsis
- In this interactive student-facing resource from LabXchange, students will learn about biodiversity, its importance, and human-caused threats to biodiversity.
- Students will define new vocabulary terms, answer reflection and quiz questions, and interpret graphs and charts to understand biodiversity and the threats it faces.

Prerequisites
- This interactive will take students about half an hour or more to complete. Students need to read through and answer questions for one section before they are allowed to move on to the next, and students' progress will not be saved if they need to exit the program. Because of this, teachers will want to ensure students have ample time to complete the sections or advise them to note where they left off and record their answers to the questions.

- To make connections to literature, teachers can find a literary example of the tree of life used symbolically in a story.
- As students go through the different sections of the resource, it may help them to take notes, especially to record definitions for unfamiliar terms.
