Synopsis
- This resource includes twelve guides for corporate professionals of various categories to take climate action at work.
- Students will learn how climate change relates to each profession, discover steps professionals can take to leverage their jobs to help fight the climate crisis, and explore some case studies of real professionals who have incorporated these ideas.

Prerequisites
- Students should understand climate change, its causes, impacts, and possible solutions.
- Teachers may want to show students Project Drawdown's Table of Solutions to familiarize them with climate solutions.
- To access the Climate Action Checklists, teachers and students will have to enter some information every time. Teachers may want to download these twelve PDFs ahead of time.
Differentiation & Implementation
- Using the guides as inspiration, students can create a guide to inform others how to incorporate climate-centered considerations into their role as students.
- If teachers know professionals that are taking a climate initiative at work, they can invite them to talk about what they do.
- Students can create infographics to summarize their learning and inform local businesses and professionals about how they can make their job a climate job.
- Older students creating career plans can include what they will do to take climate action in their careers.
This article and the associated guides explain how different jobs are considered climate jobs. They also describe how people in these different jobs can incorporate climate action into their jobs. The jobs and their descriptions are broad, and are jobs that people would not typically associate with climate work, such as Human Resources, Procurement, Asset Management, and Finance to name a few. These guides are particularly important because they help depict how many different approaches there can be to finding climate solutions and how many different people and careers can contribute to these solutions outside of climate scientists. This resource is recommended for teaching.
