Teaching Tips


  • For economics, this is a powerful tool to provide real-life data on how oil production and the supply of oil has changed in different countries. Students can explore determinants of supply by considering how the increase in the supply of oil production (all else equal) could decrease the price of oil, which is a resource for many goods. This can allow students to explore determinants of supply and demand.
